Welcome to AVS Bransgore

Warranty Overview & Term

This internal warranty is provided by AVS Bransgore and applies to used vehicles sold by us. The standard warranty period is 6 months from the date of vehicle delivery, unless otherwise stated in writing. The warranty covers the sudden failure of certain major mechanical and electrical components, subject to the terms, limits, and exclusions set out below.

This warranty is provided in addition to the customer’s statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

What Is Covered During the warranty period:

AVS Bransgore will contribute towards the reasonable cost of repair or replacement of the following components if they suffer a sudden mechanical or electrical failure rendering the vehicle unroadworthy:

• Engine – internally lubricated components including crankshaft, bearings, pistons, connecting rods, camshafts, followers, oil pump, timing gears and internal engine components.
• Manual & Automatic Gearboxes – internal gears, shafts, bearings, selector mechanisms, torque converters, valve bodies, and casings (if damaged by an internal failure).
• Differential & Drivetrain – crown wheels, pinions, bearings, drive shafts, CV joints, and internal drivetrain components.
• Electrical Components – starter motor, alternator, and factory-fitted control units directly related to vehicle operation.
• Cooling System – water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing, and engine cooling fan motor.

Cover applies only where failure is not attributable to wear and tear, routine servicing, age-related deterioration, misuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance.

Warranty Limits, Labour Rates, Inspection & Repair Location Claim Limit:

The maximum liability under this warranty is limited to £1,500 plus vat including parts and labour per individual claim.
Labour Rate: Labour will be reimbursed at a maximum rate of £65.00 plus VAT per hour.
Any labour charged above this rate is the responsibility of the customer.
Inspection: Where reasonably possible, AVS Bransgore must be given the opportunity to inspect the vehicle prior to any repair work being authorised or undertaken. Repair Location: AVS Bransgore is the preferred repairer under this warranty where reasonably practical. If repairs are carried out elsewhere, this must be agreed in writing in advance.

Key Exclusions – Service & Wear Items The following components are classified as service items or wear-and-tear components and are not covered under this warranty:

• Auxiliary / drive belts (including serpentine belts)
• Auxiliary belt tensioners, pulleys, idlers, and associated bearings
• Timing belts, timing chains, and associated tensioners (unless explicitly stated otherwise)
• Bearings, bushes, springs, dampers, and suspension components
• Clutches, flywheels, brake components, tyres
• Batteries, hoses, pipes, seals, gaskets, fluids, and filters

Wear and Tear Definition Wear and tear refers to the natural deterioration of components resulting from age, mileage, heat cycles, and normal usage. Wear-related failure may occur gradually or suddenly and does not indicate a defect present at the time of sale.

Consequential Damage

This warranty does not cover consequential or secondary damage arising from the failure of excluded components, continued use of the vehicle after a fault becomes apparent, or repairs undertaken without inspection or authorisation.
